Registered Nurse

Jacqui McElwee

Jacqui completed her nursing training at St John’s Hospital in South Hobart. This was way back in the 1980s, before nursing education had transitioned entirely to the university sector.

She went on to complete a Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing (Cardiac), and subsequently a Master of Advanced Nursing Practice.

Jacqui has worked in many nursing roles across both public and private sectors, focusing mainly on cardiology in recent years.

Jacqui has recently joined the Brilliant Being team and is enjoying completing body composition analysis measurements for patients seeking medical help with weight management.

“It’s great to be part of a multi-disciplinary team that acknowledges the many challenges that we face in managing our body weight. It’s important to me to provide a welcoming setting where people do not feel judged. We aim to set people up for success to meet their health and weight goals.”

When not working, Jacqui keeps busy kayaking, cold water swimming, camping, bushwalking and spending time with family and friends.
