Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our clinic provides a science-based, holistic approach to weight loss. Patients are seen by a team of GPs with a special interest in obesity management.

Each patient’s individual situation, behaviours and aspirations are assessed, appropriate pharmacy-only drugs are prescribed and triggers for weight gain are identified. It is an individualised program with regular nursing reviews.
  • Brilliant Being specialises in supporting people who want change in their lives.

We know that obesity is a chronic disease with health problems. It is difficult to lose weight and keep it off. We know from experience that the support of your medical team is crucial.

We help to make the weight loss journey easier with proven holistic strategies, professional medical consultation, as well as support from our dieticians, psychologists and diabetes educators, as required.
  • Some people think that their weight is a result of "slow metabolism", but many studies show that people with excess weight often have a normal metabolic rate.
Instead, weight gain is caused by excess energy intake driven by genetics and hunger hormones.
  • At Brilliant Being, we know that everyone is different. Your starting point is an appointment with our nursing assistant, who will help you start your weight loss journey.

She will carry out initial measurements and provide you with an assessment of your body composition. She will arrange for you to have some initial pathology checked and explain how to make appointments with the team that will best support you.

We will also explain what the program offers and obtain a pathology form to have blood taken.
  • At Brilliant Being, we understand that people have different needs, and we want to customise our program to meet your specific requirements. That's why we offer our 'check-in' program with our nursing assistant on a weekly or monthly basis. During the check-in she will assess your body composition, provide a weigh-in, and offer general support. If you require appointments with other team members, we can discuss and arrange them to suit your schedule and preferences.
  • Out-of-pocket costs range from approximately $60 to $180 depending on the service provided.
